Alinea's two directors, Tim Askey and Grayham Amos had spent 5 years working together for a previous company. Their paths crossed developing a virtual reality e-learning application for British Gas. One of the first to use this technique in the UK. Tim and Grayham had a vision for this approach and left to form the company Alinea Interactive Ltd in 2005.

We really enjoy our technology and it is this that pushes us on to always be looking for better, more cost effective solutions in this medium. We are interested in anyone who can demonstrate an ability in any of the above disciplines and support remote workers across the globe.

Youth programme

In addition Alinea supports a youth programme to encourage any young person who is legally able to work within their own country's laws and with parental consent, by providing funded code or modeling projects without conventional commercial pressures. The concept is Alinea will provide a project brief to an interested young person where there is no fixed deadline, and no accountability for their work. If they then find they cannot complete the work or no longer wish to be involved during the project, there is no pressure from Alinea to do so. The idea for this is to provide an alternative to the traditional paper round for a young person and for Alinea to benefit from the wealth of talent that enjoys this type of work as a hobby.
