Fujifilm Japan brief Alinea on new product requirement - Sep 2008

Alinea spent 1 week in Japan hosted by Fujifilm for a design briefing on a second stage on-line virtual reality application for the print industry. Clearly it was a wonderful opportunity for Alinea to see a new country but also it was a great education to see and operate within a new business culture. Not only did the trip strengthen Alinea's ties with the Fujifilm corporation, but also demonstrated ways of improving the planning and development of a project through operating with their unique business disciplines.

The bi-annual European print industry exhibition was the launch pad for Fujifilm's second phase presentation of their virtual brochure visualising software. Alinea used their prototyping solutions to create a simulated piece of software, where to all intent and purposes, the User felt they were test driving the real thing. This platform was ideal for creating a low cost solution to garner industry requirements for the second phase developments.

A change of image was required for a major international bank, and they chose Alinea's online 3D virtual environment to achieve this. As an investment bank, their profile customers are young entrepreneurs and so they have chosen to deliver their 2009 AGM web content through an interactive simulation where a visitor can browse around a virtual exhibition space to access all their downloadable content and will be augmented with additional third party exhibitors buying and exhibiting in their virtual real estate.

Alinea's vehicle simulator on display at DSEi defence Expo - Sep 2007

Our real world physics Trojan armoured tank simulation is displayed at the DSEi defence Expo. The simulated deployment arm for the vehicles' facine unit (like a JCB digger arm) allowed visitors to try out the extremely difficult task of picking up a half ton pile of connected pipes from the rear of the vehicle and drop them into a whole in the ground. Sounds easy, but this simulator was designed to save hours of training time on a very expensive real world vehicle.

Alinea wins bid for Fujifilm Graphic Systems on strength of customer service - Feb 2006

Winning Fujifilm Graphic Systems confidence as a new company was a hard battle, and they were up against some much larger players. The factor that won through was not their ever present enthusiasm for technology and ideas outside of the box, but their commitment to their customer. Alinea's customer said it was the fact that he was able to work directly with the people who actually did the work and not be passed through a third party account executive who had no concept of the technology or processes involved that confirmed their choice of provider.

Virtually BAE - A training system for tanks produced by Alinea- Oct 2005

A purchase from BAE brings about the inception of Alinea. From the history and technological credentials of the directors of Alinea, BAE proposed a requirement for 3D virtual reality CD-Rom based tank simulation to augment their fault diagnosis training program. Working with instructional designers and technical experts, and a good deal of time on the factory floor, Alinea created the virtual reality functionality and modeling for these huge armoured vehicles, and integrated it into conventional e-learning media software, where the Users progress and performance were automatically tracked and corrected.

ChillParc™ makes its debut. The 3D online chat arena is now available as an early preview - July 2009

ChillParc™ has been created to serve young people who enjoy socialising through media such as MSN, Facebook, Bebo etc. ChillParc™ provides a little 'downtime' from the frantic chat messaging where friends can improvise a quick game of football, or just wander around the Parc environment and mess about.

The current Beta preview disables the actual chat mechanism (MSN or any other chat program can be used in conjunction) currently for child protection data reasons. We intend to roll out the full functioning version in the next few months.
